Rice Krispies Treat Easter Surprise Eggs

I feel like I have this weird obsession with baking things and putting other things inside. First my Thanksgiving thank you note crescent rolls ...  then my cornucopias, my Valentine heart surprise cookies ..... and now my giant Rice Krispies Treat Easter egg. I don't know what it is. It's just fun to open something up and get a little present I guess!  Well, this one is easy. And it's fun for the kids. Check it out.

To make these eggs you will need a Wilton's Mini Wonder Pan. You can buy it on Amazon or at Michaels

Follow the directions below to make the actual Rice Krispies Treat recipe. Once you have your mixture. you can press it into your Wilton pan and scoop out the centers of your eggs. Fill the centers with whatever candy you have. You can also add a little note if you wish.

Now melt your white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl at 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted. Add vegetable shortening and stir to combine. Spread some of the chocolate onto the edges of our egg.

Carefully stick your egg together. You will have to do this fast so all the candy doesn't fall out. Refrigerate for 5 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Now cover the egg with more white chocolate.

And add your sprinkles for decoration.
