Saltine Cracker Toffee Crack

Salty, sweet, and easy.

Just like me.

Hahaha. Kidding! But funny.

This saltine cracker toffee is a family favorite. It’s simple to make and everyone loves it. I also think it tastes even better when left in the refrigerator. Scroll down for the recipe.

Saltine Cracker Toffee Crack

INGREDIENTS

40 salted saltine crackers (or enough to line your pan)

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

3 extra crackers crushed and/or 3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil. Line saltine crackers in a single layer on the cookie sheet.

  2. In a small pot combine sugar and butter and bring to a boil. Once mixture is at a boil, continue boiling for 3 minutes. Don’t over boil or the toffee will be too hard. Mixture should be a rich caramel color. Immediately pour over saltines and spread with a spatula to cover completely.

  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. The crackers will all bubble up. Remove from oven and straighten any crackers that may have moved. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and let sit 2-3 minutes until they begin to melt. Spread melted chocolate across all the crackers and top with crushed crackers and chopped nuts if desired.

  4. Place in fridge to cool completely. Break into pieces and eat. Store in refrigerator.
