Candy Corn Halloween Hats

Two years ago at Christmas we did an appetizer only kind of dinner. We made everything bite size and I had a million little serving dishes, boxes ..... and these paper cones. We used them to hold French fries. I know, French fries at Christmas sounds totally weird, but my Mom and I like to get creative and mix it up at the holidays every once in a while. And seriously, who doesn't like fries? Well I still had a bunch of paper cones left over sitting in my pantry and I was staring at them this week wondering what the heck I was going to do with them ...... and then I thought, party hat! And so we painted them like candy corn : ) I think they're pretty stinking cute. Check it out.

Paint your hats with orange and yellow paint. Eyeball it or use a pencil to draw a straight line around the hat - this is super simple. The white part is the actual paper cone. I did not use white paint. Let your little hats dry.

Once your hats are completely dry you need to use a needle or thin nail to poke a hole on both sides of the hat. This is where your string is going to go.

Measure your child's (or your own) head for an approximate size and string though some elastic string. Tie a knot once it's through the hole and cut off any excess string so it looks nice.

Happy Halloween!
