Red Velvet Fudge Brownies
Classy Red Velvet Fudge Brownies because classy is my middle name. Actually it’s not - Jane is. My name is Jessie Jane - like the adult film star. Don’t google it. You’ll see pictures of me holding cake and another Jessie Jane without the “I” holding ... other stuff 🤔 But these brownies are really delicious and also on the blog today.
Red Velvet Fudge Brownies
Ingredients
1 (4-oz.) bittersweet chocolate baking bar, chopped
3/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 (1-oz.) bottle red liquid food coloring
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup premium white chocolate chips
Cream Cheese Frosting (Optional)
1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1½ cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper allowing 2 inches to hang over the sides. Lightly grease.
2. In a microwave safe bowl melt the bittersweet chocolate and butter, making sure to stop and stir after 30 seconds eachtime being careful not to burn the chocolate. Whisk in the sugar and add the eggs one at a time until blended.
3. Add the flour, red food coloring, baking powder, and vanilla. Stir until fully incorporated.
4. Mix in the white chocolate chips and pour into the bottom of your prepared baking pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean with moist crumbs. Do not overcook. They are better when chewy. Refrigerate for one hour.
5. To make the cream cheese frosting: Beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and continue to beat until creamy. Frost the cooled brownies.
