Quick DIY Halloween Chipotle Burrito Costume
What you need
$2 Field & Stream Reflect foil blanket from Dick’s Sporting Goods
Scissors
Hot Glue
Printer paper
12”x18” White foam sheets (Sour cream)
12”x18” Kelly Green foam sheets (Lettuce)
12”x18” Red foam sheets (Tomatoes)
12”x18” Light Brown foam sheets (Tortilla)
12”x18” Dark brown foam sheets (Meat)
12”x18” Yellow foam sheets (Cheese)
Directions
1. Unfold your foil blanket and lay on a flat surface. Cut strips of light brown foam and hot glue along edge of the blanket. This is the tortilla so it make it stick up ever so slightly. It doesn’t need to go the full width of the foil blanket, depending on the measurements of your child.
2. Cut wavy pieces of white foam and glue to the back of the light brown foam. This is your sour cream.
3. Cut wavy pieces of dark brown foam and glue behind the white foam sheets. Make sure the colors of each foam stick out from behind the other pieces of foam. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It’s a burrito so you can make everything uneven.
4. Add sharply cut pieces of green foam for the lettuce then flip over your foil sheet so the glued foam is behind the silver blanket now. Carefully glue square pieces of red foam for the tomatoes all around the other colors. You can weave them in between lettuce pieces or meat pieces. Cut them irregularly so they aren’t all the same size.
5. Glue on the final slivers of yellow foam for the cheese. Let glue cool.
6. Wrap the foil blanket around your child and trim the bottom if it’s too long. Carefully tape or glue your Chipotle logo to the front as you overlap the foil pieces. If you want to reuse the costume I recommend hot gluing a male and female piece of Velcro to the edges of the foil so your child can easily snap it on and off.
