Classic Holiday Brigadeiros

Classic Brigadeiros. Made with only four ingredients, this Brazilian sweet is easy to make and delicious. The key is to continuously stir the fudge-like mixture on low to medium heat until it thickens. I rolled mine in colored sprinkles and added a mini peanut butter cup to create the ornament. You could also use a small nut or mini marshmallow. Recipe below!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter

14 oz sweetened condensed milk

¼ cup cocoa powder

1 cup sprinkles

**

Disco Gold edible glitter: https://amzn.to/3CtRtS0

Mini Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups or nut or Rolo

Directions

  1. In a pot over low to medium heat (closer to low), melt the butter, sweetened condensed milk, and cocoa powder, stirring continuously for about 10 minutes. Do not stop stirring.

  2. Drag a spatula through the bottom of the pan until you can see the center of the pot for about 3 seconds before it melts back together. If it separates for 3 seconds or more you are good to go.

  3. Pour into a shallow greased dish and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  4. Roll the chilled mixture into balls then roll in sprinkles. If making ornaments, dust mini peanut butter cups or mini marshmallows with edible glitter and attach to the top with a tiny dab of frosting or more mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

**Tips: Store in refrigerator. Gently grease hands before rolling into balls for easy rolling. If you do not cook the mixture long enough, the mixture will not set up correctly and the balls may soften and flatten a bit when you go to serve them.
