Sees Candy Vanilla Bean Cake
Cake Ingredients
1 stick unsalted butter, slightly softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream (or buttermilk)
1/4 cup whole milk
1 Tablespoon Vanilla bean paste
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Vanilla Bean Buttercream Ingredients
3 sticks unsalted butter
9 cups powdered sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
Sees chocolate wrappers
8oz semisweet chocolate, melted
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour two 8 rectangular pans or Pyrex dishes.
To make the Sees candy wrappers, melt your chocolate at 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted. Brush your melted chocolate inside the paper candy wrappers and place in the freezer until ready to use.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, using a handheld mixer, beat softened butter and sugar on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until fluffy and lightened in color. Beat in eggs.
Add in sour cream, milk and vanilla bean paste. Mix well.
Gradually add in the flour mixture and mix until combined. Do not over mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool before frosting.
Make the buttercream frosting by combining all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mixing well. Stack your cakes and frost in between the layers and on the top and around the sides.
Remove chocolate wrappers from freezer and peel the chocolate away from the paper liners. Place on cake and fill with candy. Cut and serve!
